Miss Amelia

We recently attended a wedding in Tasmania & Amelia was the flower girl. I made her the Violette Fields "Chloe Dress" & she looked stunning.

My sister in law helped me to do her hair as due to an incident a couple of weeks earlier involving a curling iron & her ear she was not letting one come near her again so rag ringlets it was. Since I have never done these before a "please help me" call was made to my SIL who has had a number of years practise with dance concerts to come to my rescue. She did & the curls turned out brilliantly & actually held in her hair. Amelia has long superfine hair that is dead straight & the curls fall out of after about 30 minutes.

It was a very long day for Amelia & even though she ended up with sore blistered feet she did a really good job & looked gorgeous.

Dog Sledding

Amelia & I had the opportunity to go on a dog sled ride (last time we were booked into one was in New Zealand & the run got cancelled due to a storm) so we jumped at the chance.

We went Tuesday afternoon after picking Amelia up from Ski School.
Our guide Tim was brilliant he introduced us to the dogs & we were allowed to pat them before he showed us how to get into the sled

Off we went. The actual ride was only about 30 minutes but the whole experience was nearly 2 hours. Amelia & I both got to drive the sled & the scenery was beautiful. Next time Christian gets to go on the ride.

Our guide Tim was fantastic & took heaps of photos for us.
It was truly a wonderful experience

Greetings from Big White

We have been here for nearly a week & are absolutely loving it so much so Christian & I are talking about maybe investing in a property here in a few years time.

Amelia is loving ski school & is nearly up to Racing Racoon level. We are so proud of her skiing ability considering she only sees the snow once maybe twice a year, so for a 6 year old from Adelaide this is a big achievement.

Next week Amelia & I are going on a dog sled tour & we are all going tubing & on a horse drawn sleigh ride.

Until my next post

Morning View

So this is the view we are waking up to at the moment.

It snowed all day yesterday so we have been out skiing & boarding in 12cm of fresh champagne powder this morning. It's a pow pow day.

Christian & I yesterday in the snow.

Family Holiday Time

We are currently away on our family holiday in Canada.
After a long flight we made it safely to Vancouver, first stop check into the hotel then to find Cyclone Taylor (Ice Hockey shop) so Amelia could get a new kit as we can't get anything to fit properly in Australia & new skates for Christian.
We went to a Ice Hockey game that night to see the Vancouver Giants (Michael Buble is part owner of this team) V Victoria Royals. The royals won but it was a great game to watch.

Saturday we went for a huge walk around Stanley Park.

In Stanley Park

The park is massive & absolutely beautiful we only got to see a small portion of the park but it was still lovely what we saw.

Sunday we went for a walk & I did a bit of shopping before heading back to the hockey again.
Monday was straight to the airport to catch our flight to Kelowna to head up to Big White.

Special Order

I have spent the last week & a bit working on this special dress.

I made a number of them for the recent dance concert & there is one little girl who is Tangled obsessed. Her mum asked me to make one for her.
So using her measurements I had to draw the pattern & I then put a couple of my own tweaks to it (I changed the type of lace used & used ribbon in the corset loops instead of elastic). This is the result which mum loves (vis picture), lets hope she loves it as much in person.
